About

The Green Engineer is a sustainable design consulting firm specializing in energy efficient and sustainable design solutions for the built environment. Founded in 2005 by Christopher Schaffner, PE, LEED Fellow, the firm currently has a staff of 25, with 23 LEED-accredited professionals. 

We specialize in Building Performance Analysis and practice an Integrative Design approach to provide solutions to design, build, and operate buildings with improved energy efficiency. The Green Engineer is an Employee-Owned, Certified B Corporation, JUST Organization, and a Massachusetts Benefit Corporation.

Our team members consist of Sustainable Design Consultants and Building Performance Analysts, who bring experience and perspective from a variety of backgrounds including engineering, architecture, construction, planning, development, and public policy.
