About
The new Tyngsborough Middle School is a 112,000-square-foot, two-story facility designed by JCJ Architecture in collaboration with the Town of Tyngsborough and delivered through the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) program. The completed school replaces the town’s original 1967 middle school, which was constrained by aging systems, limited space, and outdated infrastructure that could not support modern instructional models.
Following a comprehensive feasibility study that evaluated renovation versus new construction, the Town advanced a full replacement school built on the existing campus site, converting a former athletic field into a modern educational facility. The result is a purpose-built learning environment for grades 6–8 serving more than 400 students.
The facility also incorporates modern building systems and energy-efficient design features that align with MSBA standards for long-term performance, comfort, and operational efficiency.
