About
"The East Bay MET School, located in Newport, Rhode Island, was designed as the first net-zero public school facility in the region. The 16,800 square-foot facility opened for classes in early 2014 and accommodates 180 high school students and 25 staff. In order to achieve near-net zero energy, the building is designed to take advantage of renewable energy sources available on site and minimize energy consumption with an air-tight, well-insulated exterior envelope."
