About
Built in 1917, Blessed Sacrament Church in Jamaica Plain served the community until the early 2000s. After acquiring the vacant building, Hyde Square Task Force (HSTF) sought a partner in 2021 to transform the site into a mixed-use development. Pennrose was selected for its proposal featuring a 200-person community space and 55 affordable housing units. Since then, the project has secured approvals, financing, and begun construction to advance this historic preservation and adaptive reuse effort. The development will offer affordable units at 30%, 50%, 60%, and 80% of AMI, including six reserved for individuals experiencing homelessness. The project is pursuing LEED v4 Multi-family Midrise Gold certifiability.
