About
Christina Koch’s Return to Earth speech after Artemis II stayed with me: Earth is our lifeboat in the vast blackness of space, and “Planet Earth, [we] are a crew.” Let’s come together, face hard challenges, and tackle them as one population—our shared future depends on courage, care, and solidarity.
Amanda Garvey specializes in higher education sustainability consulting at Thornton Tomasetti, helping colleges, universities, and other mission-driven organizations plan and deliver high-performance, low-carbon buildings and campuses. She develops sustainability and decarbonization strategies through integrated consulting that aligns energy performance, embodied carbon, occupant comfort, health and well-being, and long-term resilience goals.
Amanda guides early-stage campus planning, facilitates collaborative visioning workshops, and develops performance-driven strategies that help teams define priorities, evaluate constraints, and chart practical pathways toward net-zero and climate-resilient outcomes. She also advises project teams on green building certifications, holistic materials, and other consulting services that connect client climate commitments to actionable design and operations decisions. She also serves as a member of Trust for Public Land's New England Advisory Board.
